After a tough season in the B division, the CBF Diamond Dusters opened play this summer in the C division. This year’s team features 9 CCU rookies, as a few of last year’s players have been called up to the A team. Many of the rookies only had one week of practice, but it was more than enough, as the Diamond Dusters managed to start off the season with a 6-5 win over CUMC.
Game highlights:
- Raymond made the rookie mistake of stepping on home plate and making an out instead of scoring a run. He did score another run later that ended up being the game winner.
- A shortage of gloves did not lead to a shortage of awesome defense. Bai turned an unassisted double play at 3rd. Allan had a nice spin move on one throw to first. Great defense in the field from newcomers Ed and Jenny as well.
- Sloppy pitching led to a few strikeouts, but overall contact at the plate was good. We had hits that ranged from 5 feet to 445 feet.
